This sound file contains the balancing frequencies related to heel spur, also known as calcaneal spur.
Heel spur is an irritation of the tendon plate that runs under the foot from the heel to the toes and sometimes causes inflammation, this is called tendonitis or plantar fasciitis. Typical symptoms are pain under the heel when standing or walking for a long time. It is a broad tendon that has to absorb a lot of forces. It is precisely where the tendon plate attaches to the heel that it is very vulnerable to irritation and/or calcification. Heel spur, like tennis elbow, is a tendon injury that is usually caused by overload. The overload is usually caused by too much tension or pressure on the tendon plate and heel, causing too much pull on the tendon plate attachment to the heel. This can be caused by sports such as running or jumping, but also by unbalanced loads (for example, bad shoes or foot deformities). In this way, the attachment of the tendon plate to the heel can become inflamed, which we call a tendon plate inflammation, in practice usually called heel spurs.
